Doncaster sealed a vital win over Bradford to keep their momentum flying, while Port Vale and Notts County picked up key away wins. Cheltenham’s 3-2 win over Carlisle and Salford’s thumping 4-1 victory over Colchester kept things interesting in the midtable scrap.

At the bottom, the tension couldn’t be higher. Bromley fought to a thrilling 3-3 draw with Barrow, Walsall slipped up at home to Accrington, and MK Dons and Grimsby battled to a nervy 0-0.

Elsewhere, Chesterfield flexed their muscles with a 4-1 win over Morecambe, while Tranmere beat Crewe 2-0 to end their season on a high.
